Vocal Coaching

Sapphira is an experienced vocal coach having taught pupils of all ages and abilities, one to one and as part of choirs.

During her time studying for a Popular Music and Recording Degree, (where she achieved a 1st class honours), Sapphira spent much time studying the voice and performance which she took as a major elective (as well as composition) and therefore specialises in popular music such as pop, musicals and jazz and can offer specialist techniques from these genres including audition and microphone techniques, as well as song-writing skills. However, having studied classical music to a high level including Music A Level and having achieved Grade 8 (ABRSM) in both piano and singing, she is able to coach classical singing as well.

Whether you are interested in classical or popular styles and whatever ability or age, in a one to one vocal lesson you will begin with a warm-up ensuring the correct basic vocal techniques are in place and to promote a ‘healthy’ voice. We will then learn songs chosen together or if you are learning for a grade we will work on these pieces for the remainder of the lesson. The emphasis is to enjoy yourself whilst learning how to sing, if you are having fun you will learn more!

Lesson prices are negotiable but tend to be (based on pupil travelling to me for lesson):
30 min session (best for children) - £15
45 min session – £20
1 hour session - £25

If you book five lessons up front I will be able to do a discount on lessons, which can be discussed but typically:
30 min session x 5 - £65 = £13 per lesson
45 min session x 5 - £90 = £18 per lesson
1 hour session x 5 - £115 = £23 per lesson

If you are interested in learning in pairs or as a small group this can be arranged. Learning in twos is nice way to gently start children off, particularly if they are at primary school age*.
